In the early 1950's, a certain John Cooper, owner of the Cooper Car Company, was building cars for rally and Formula One and many of the great racing drivers at that time were queuing to race his cars. He went on to see the potential of the original Mini for competition and the rest is, as they say, history. Today the latest version of the Mini holds little physical resemblance to the original, whatsoever. It is however the latest in the long line of a pedigree which represents a hugely significant chapter in the history of British of cars and motoring.
