The Smart Roadster Coupé (and its sibling, Smart Roadster) were introduced in 2003. Designed with a nod to the British roadster of yesteryear, such as the Triumph Spitfire and the MGB. Available with a removable Targa roof or an electrical soft-top, the Roadster Coupe is powered by an 80 hp Mercedes-Benz engineered turbocharged 698cc 3-cylinder engine in the rear. Optional Formula 1-style gear-paddles on the steering wheel to control the semi-automatic sequential transmission were also available. Look out for the smart Brabus-tuned versions with power increased 99 hp, twin sports exhaust, lower suspension and polished six-spoke aluminum alloy Monoblock VI 17" wheels.
