The S2000 was a rear wheel drive 4 cylinder roadster constructed of a rigid 'high X-bone frame' which Honda claimed improved the vehicle's rigidity and collision safety and aluminum body panels, ensuring that the car featured a 50:50 weight distribution. In its lifetime the S2000 was highly rated by critics and motoring journalists and received much praise about the high output of its engine, its high redline, balanced handling and its smooth gearbox.
